For Samsung, the past year has been quite stormy – there was the whole drama surrounding the fiery Galaxy Note 7. But despite all of this, Samsung managed to release on of the most remarkable smartphone in the history, the galaxy S8, and also have it be a huge market success. The Galaxy Note 7 was bad enough in itself, forcing airlines to repeatedly warn passengers about the danger of Samsung handsets. The Note 8 is also a big launch for Samsung not only as the company’s fall flagship, but the return of the Note brand to market following last year’s disastrous Note 7 failure.
In the past couple weeks, there has been a ton of leaks about the Galaxy Note 8’s hardware, revealing things like the dual camera system, the S8-style design with a bezel-less Infinity Display, and of course, the return of the S Pen.Samsung has unveiled its Galaxy Note 8 in a return for the high-end smartphone brand. The Korean electronics giant will be hoping to recover the reputation of the Note model with the release of the Note 8. The new 6.3-inch device has an “infinity display” that wraps around the edges of the phone and Samsung’s Bixby voice assistant. Samsung galaxy Note 8 and Pen both are IP 68 dust and water resistant. The Note 8 comes with the S-pen stylus, which can be used even when the phone’s screen is off, such as to take notes or make a shopping list. The main difference with Galaxy S8 is slightly bigger screen, the usual addition of an S-Pen, and Samsung’s first dual-camera setup with a 3x optical zoom.
The Note 8 is Samsung’s first smartphone to come with a dual camera lens, technology which was adapted by Apple with iPhone 7 Plus and some Android flagship such as the Nokia 8 and OnePlus 5. It has two 12MP cameras on the back, which let users create depth effects and zoom further as used by iPhone 7 Plus and OnePlus 5.
